INFORMATION GUIDE

Lace Material & Bleached Knot

Vintage Braided Wigs are high-quality handmade wigs.  They are made with human hair frontal, closure, 360 and full lace wig and braided with 100% kanekalon hair. Depending on the cap construction they can be parted anywhere with the appearance of a real scalp, and can be blended into your natural hairline to make them virtually undetectable.  Best of all, they are customizable, which will ensure the perfect fit and desired look. Our Wigs are ideal for women who have lost their hair because of chemotherapy, alopecia, aging or medications.  They are also perfect for the busy woman on the go, who doesn’t have time to sit for long periods of time at the hairdresser. They are great for any woman who simply wants a quick convenient change from her usual hairstyle, without having to make a permanent change.

The cap/base of our Braided Wigs can be designed using several different kinds of materials including Lace, human hair etc.  However, we only use materials constructed using Swiss, transparent and HD lace. Each of these materials, with the exceptions of transparent and HD lace, are available in several different shades to blend perfectly with various skin/scalp tones.  This gives the illusion that hair is growing directly out of the scalp, thus making it virtually undetectable.

Once the cap/base of the wig is designed, human hairs are individually hand tied into knots on the lace. The knots are then bleached in the front to make them less noticeable.

Lace Ordering Guide

There are many different options to choose from when ordering Custom Lace Wigs. In fact, ordering a customized wig can sometimes be overwhelming due to the seemingly endless variety of options. We understand this and were mindful of this fact while creating this page. The guide below will help you become familiar with the terms and options frequently used when ordering and referring to our braided wigs.

Materials Used to Design Lace Wig Caps

Swiss Lace:

Swiss Lace is delicate, breathable and can be used for the front of the hairline and/or the entire base of the wig.  Swiss lace is finer and more fragile than French lace.  It also blends better with the skin for a less visible appearance. This is the most common lace used for our braided wigs.

You need to match the lace color with your scalp complexion not your skin tone because when you part the wig, you want it to appear as your natural scalp color. Swiss Lace comes in transparent, light, medium and dark brown lace. The most common being the Transparent and Medium lace as light and dark colors can be achieved with your desired face makeup and stocking cap.

Recently, transparent lace is very popular in the market, and many people may also follow the trend to choose wigs with transparent lace. But what we want to say is that the transparent color of the lace is not suitable for everyone because transparent does not mean clear. You may see the undertone is still going to be white no matter how much make up you put on it. Before choosing, consider whether it is suitable for you.

HD Lace:

The undetectable transparent lace wig and the HD lace human hair wig both belong to the natural-looking and invisible human hair wig for women but regarding which one to choose, you should consider your budget.

Actually, the transparent lace wig and the HD lace frontal wig can both bring you the most natural-looking, if you have enough budget, you can choose the HD lace wig because it is much closer to your scalp, but if you have limited budget, you can choose the transparent lace wig to get the same effects.

Due to the fact that this HD Lace is SO thin the lace is SUPER easy to rip, if you are not gentle with this lace it is done for. The lace is EXTREMELY delicate so you cannot pull or tug or continuously brush the hair on these HD Lace frontals. HD lace wigs are appealing but vulnerable and THIS IS WHY THE BEST LACE FOR BRAIDED WIG IS SWISS LACE.

Density and Thickness

When you look at a wig, you want to find the most realistic and natural looking wig that compliments your hairline and face. Getting this looks means considering a few aspects of a wig:

NATURAL HAIRLINE – The key to rocking a hairpiece you can feel confident in is customization. Whether you’re copping a synthetic wig, investing in a human unit or braided wig unit, or sewing one together from scratch, there are some tricks to make your fake hair look as authentic as possible. The best part? You don’t have to be a pro to pull them off. To have a realistic looking wig, it must be measured rightly to fit your head, knots must be bleached, use a makeup of the colour of your skin or lace tint on the lace, wear a stocking cap that suits your colour, ensure your wig is made to the right density and thickness and last but not the least, ensure you properly lay the baby hairs

BLEACHED KNOTS – Our braided wigs come bleached and some not bleached. Your choice of scalp depends on the customer and can be selected based on preference. Please not that there are additional charges for bleaching of the knots.

BABY HAIR – Our closures, frontals, 360 and full lace wigs come with baby hairs

WIG DENSITY

Density percentages range from extra light (about 60%) to extra heavy (about 180%). The most commonly chosen density is around 120%, which is considered medium to thick, and more closely mimics the density of the average human head.

In our Website: We will have two standard densities.

Less Density – Wig is sparse, light weight and not bulky

Standard Density – Normal density, not full neither is it sparse. Wig is average in weight and average bulky. All wigs uploaded on our website all have standard densities

Full Density – Has lot of braids, should be slightly heavy and more bulky

THICKNESS:

Wig Density is defined as how thick or thin the hair on your lace wig will be. Kindly see below for your reference

FOLLOW BELOW STEPS TO MEASURE YOUR HEAD

Specific head measurements are used when designing Custom Lace Wigs at the customers request.  This makes it the most important part of the order.  A soft tape measure should be used when taking the six specific head measurements.  We recommend that you get someone else to help with the measurements and to measure at least three times to ensure accuracy.  For those who opt to order a unit that is already in stock, it is still important to know your exact head measurements.  Based on your exact measurements, you will know which one of our stock units will best suit you.  We generally ship medium caps for stock orders, but we do carry a few small and large caps.  Sometimes we even carry extra small and extra large units so please be sure to inquire before purchasing.

  • Nape – The exact spot where your hair starts at the back
  • Hairline – the edges of your hair around your head
  • Medium Head Size – most common head size among adult women
  • All glueless wigs come with wig combs and elastic band for proper fitting
